K A M E K O
Clan Name: Kameko
Leader: Yuki Kameko
Status: Minor Clan
Age: 1089
Symbology: Two opposing moons separated by the void. Two joined moons bathed in light.
Loyalties: None currently.
Reputation:
The Clan Is Known For:
- The Kameko Curse of the Wolf.
- Fearless warriors.
- Exceptional hunters.
- Berserkers.
- The finest strawberries within all of Soul Society.
Resources:
Notable Clan Assets Are:
- The clan's sole survivor.
- The clan's estate.
- A lovely strawberry garden.
- A sizable war chest.
Family Estate:
The Kameko Family Estate is comprised of traditional Japanese style architecture. A white wall surrounds the compound, roughly five meters high. Flanking the cobblestone entryway path are eight ancient cherry trees. The short road leading into the estate ends in a small plaza situated between the buildings. On the east and west sides of the plaza are two guest houses, each capable of supporting a small family. A much larger building, the clan estate, dominates the northern flank of the plaza. Most rooms within are very traditional. Polished wood or tatami floors. Shoji walls. Small hallways are built in for servants to move quietly throughout the house. A small servant's quarter is located within the northern section of the grounds. Passageways lead between the three buildings, allowing both family and guests to reach both the outdoors hotsprings bath and the family's garden. Smooth white pebbles flank an old stone path within the back, offering passage throughout the garden area. Dozens of cherry trees and a few flower bushes break up this area of the estate like a series of natural walls. Within the center of the gardens rests a wood gazebo with old polished white marble benches. Surrounding this is the family's legendary strawberry patch.
Clan Structure
At present time the clan is made up of a single individual and is at risk of extinction.
Short History
Formally established in the year 931, the Kameko Clan was uplifted by the nobility of the Seireitei due to their unwavering loyalty, fearsome reputation, and brutally effective hunting of Quincy during the great war of extermination. Never a populous clan to begin with their numbers gradually dwindled over the years, some lost to hunts against Hollow or rogue Shinigami, some lost to their own savage nature. The original head of the family lost his mind to the accursed savage nature of the clan after roughly six hundred years of ruling the family. Many more were lost in the effort to put him down. Unfortunately the second head of the family fared little better, having been executed for mauling a noble child to death.

Hatayama Clan
The Monks of Balance
Clan Name: HatayamaLeader: Zenji Hatayama, the 28th Head of the Clan
Status: Minor Clan
Age: Raised to Nobility at the Founding of the Soul Society
Symbology: The Hatayama Clan has always been symbolised by flower imagery, partially due to the great garden in their estate. Their Kamon takes the form of the Plum Blossom flower.
Loyalties: The Balance and the faith of the Soul King.
Reputation:
The Clan is known for:
- Caring for an ancient Shrine on their Family Estate dedicated to the Soul King and the Principles of Maintaining Balance.
- Have a large Garden open to the Seiretei public, much like the Shrine.
- A famous library with archives stretching back to before the Soul Society was founded
- Producing Kido Experts.
- A long line of Shinigami Officers dating back to the Founding of the Gotei Squads.
- They have a tradition of adopting Spiritually active Souls from the Rukongai into the Branch Family to employ as Shrine Maidens, Monks or Gardeners
- Running humanitarian missions into the poorer regions of the Rukongai.
Resources:
The Clan has relatively little at it's command:
- Branch Family consisting of Monks and Shrine Maidens all trained in various levels of Kido.
- An ancient and respected Shrine
- A large and beautiful garden filled with ponds and flowers.
- An ancient private library focused on recording the Mystical Arts. From regulated Kido to Arcane Rituals
Hatayama Family Estate:
The Hatayama Family Estate rests in the heart of the Soul Society, within the Seireitei itself. The Estate is large and beautiful but, in truth, largely vacant these days as it was built for a Clan size which reality can no longer match.
However the Hatayama Estate still receives much foot traffic in the form of those who live within the Seireitei who wish to visit the Shrine within the Clan grounds and, some might say, the Estate really exists simply to house the Shrine itself.
The Shrine lies at the centre of the Clan’s property. It exists not to praise some otherworldly God but rather as a pledge to the principles for which the Gotei exists and expressing gratitude to the Soul King. It is built to serve as a reminder that the Shinigami must protect the Balance and that the Gotei, as well as the Nobility no matter how great, exist for the betterment of the Soul Society.
Another aspect of note upon the Clan’s property is their large and beautiful garden which flowers all year round. This quiet, contemplative, space is open to any citizens of the Seireitei who wish to visit.
The largest building within the Estate itself is the Clan Library. The Library contains texts stretching back to the Founding of the Soul Society and, it is said, even further. Whilst containing records of all kinds it is most famous for the vast collection of Mystical texts. There are even rumours that a secretive section of the archives exists which hides instruction material on how to perform forbidden spells although the Clan has always dismissed this as mere fairy tales.
Clan Structure
The Clan is divided into two main sections. The Main Family and the Branch Family. Whilst there are still a number of souls in the Branch Family, and they have great freedom in how they live their lives, the Main Family is much diminished. The youngest member of the Main Household is the current head Hatayama Zenji. The rest of the Main House largely consists of Zenji’s Elders, many of whom are retired Shinigami themselves.
Main Family
The Main Family is restricted to being a direct bloodline, or admission via marriage, the founding Bloodline of the Clan has nearly gone extinct. Members of the Main Family hold the most authority within the Clan.
Branch Family
The Branch family is divided into two groups. The Inner Line and Outer Line. The leader of the Branch Family is the leader of the Inner Line, most often an aged younger sibling of a previous Clan Head.
Branch Family - Inner Line
Those born into the Clan being related to the Main Family consist of the leaders of the Branch Clan and make up the smaller inner line. This line may be elevated to the Main Family if required, usually due to a lack of heirs. Sometimes outstanding individuals of the Outer Line are granted admission to the Inner Line as a reward for proving themselves assets to the Family.
Branch Family - Outer Line
The large outer line live much freer existences consisting of either adopted souls, or the offspring of the adopted members, who most often serve as Monks and Shrine Maidens. These adopted souls are taught minor Kido to help them with their duties. If any of these adopted individuals find their Spiritual Power growing to a high level they are offered admittance to the Academy if they wish to pursue the path of the Shinigami. Outstanding outer line members are often elevated to the more prestigious inner line.
Short History
It is said that the first Hatayamas were an order of lowly Monks that stood in support of the original foundation of the Gotei and the Soul Society structure we know of today. It was through this act of support that these contemplative Souls were raised to Nobility and formed a single family although, originally, they were not related by blood but by belief.
For millennia the Hatayamas served the Soul Society with many members joining the Gotei Squads and earning places of prestige and honour. Although the Clan itself was neither overly large nor powerful it was well respected.
It is recorded that thousands of years ago when the Quincy Purge was being considered one of the most vocal supporters was not only the Shinigami this Clan but also the faithful who prayed at the Clan Shrine.
For the past few hundred years however the Clan has steadily diminished in size and importance. Even their personal wealth has dwindled and their disdain for playing politics has left them sidelined on many important events.
The latest leader of the Clan, Zenji, is known to be a disappointment amongst the Gotei. Although he upholds the honourable and spiritual behaviour of his Clan Zenji has languished as an Unseated Shinigami for over a Century and there is little hope that he can do anything to revive his Clan.

- Zenji Hatayama, 28th Head of the Clan.
- Zâbel Miyashita Hatayama, Branch Family, Inner Line.
- Xio Hatayama, Branch family, Outer Line.

Notable Clan assets are:
- All legal prostitutes in the Rukon

- The Baozhai Distillery
- The Baozhai Brothels
Family Estate:
Clan Structure
The Baozhai are a matriarchal family made up of four individual clans, who all joined under the Baozhai family after they were banished from the Seireitei. These four families are:
The Baozhai (Stockade of Treasures) family, which handles the overall operations and management between all of the families.
The Yan (Swallow) family, which handles the day to day operations in the brothels and maintains the prostitutes health.
The Hong (Swan) family, which handles the gambling halls and all of the operations within that umbrella.
The Bingwen (Master of Arts) family, which handles the security of the clan.
All family members have their name follow this structure:
(Given Name) (Family Name) Baozhai
If they are only from the Baozhai family, they only have their Given Name followed by Baozhai.
Short History
The Baozhai are an old clan, old enough to have seen the founding of the Gotei 6 and the modern day Seirietei. However, because of their practices, centuries ago, they were banished from the Seireitei into the Rukon by the Central 46. It is here where they have thrived, going out of their way to protect the weaker souls of the Rukon while the Nobles of the Seireitei just feed their gullets and fatten their guts.
