Arc #2 Roads Untraveled

Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost Reika is summoned by Zenji. He seems to think she's more than what she thinks she's capable. With his position as a seated officer, he recommends her as the 5th seat of the 3rd Division, believing in her ability as a strong shinigami despite her doubts that ate away at her.

Mettle Exam Reika's first act as a seated officer was to see the potential of Zenji's newly appointed 6th seat (her new subordinate). Asking her closest friend, Yuki, to test the new officer out. Not only did she get to test her new authority out, she got to see Yuki at her finest, pushing the newbie to his limits.

I Knew Your Name Fear and the daunting task of being a newly appointed officer, Reika did the unthinkable despite the warnings from her superior officer. Zenji seemed far to busy, the chance of Reika ever getting an audience with the man seemed elusive. The young redhead did the unthinkable and chose to go to Watari in attempt to become stronger.

It was there that Watari seemed to pull the wool from the doubting shinigami's eyes, revealing exactly what she thought - everything was way too easy. It had all been a ploy, a game for the nobles of the Gotei. The tattered soul couldn't help but see the truth in all of his lies and joined his family. She become Reika Suzumei, another pawn in his sick and twisted games.

Fall of the Old Guard Reika's soul was in turmoil after coming to Watari, but she had to keep up the act. She came to 'support' Zenji in his challenge against his ranking officer. Even though she tried her hardest, she couldn't help but leave before the end as her heart wasn't in supporting a traitor.


Ring of Fire Watari's lies came for full fruition. Reika couldn't help but lunge out at Yuki and Zenji. Using Titus, the pair attack the Kameko estate and slaughtered all who stood in their way, dressing innocent souls as if they were Hatayama in hopes of fooling the young pup.

All seemed to work out, but the young woman's intuition seemed too strong as she went straight for Watari. The event went as far as pulling in poor Meili, an innocent bystander. Despite it all, Reika used the chaos to her advantage. She stabbed Yuki in the back, attempting to kill her former friend. Alas, it wasn't enough and sent the wolf shinigami into a rage.

Facing both Meili and Yuki seemed to be a challenge for the brother and sister duo. As a last-ditch effort, Reika used her remaining energy to teleport herself and Yuki away from Watari as captains from other divisions appeared at the Suzumei estate. Her body taxed to its limits, she collapsed along with Yuki. Through all the chaos, she was presumed dead.

This arc consists of Reika rising from an unnamed shinigami to a seated officer. Tried as she might, something within her called herself an imposter, thinking that she was given this all too easy. As her doubts ate away at her, she tried everything she could to get time with Zenji, but the officer was far too busy with his station. She tried everything until she had enough. Going against the warnings of Zenji to seek out Watari, another seated officer, in an attempt to train and become stronger so she could fill her role adequately.

Unfortunately, Watari seemed to sense her self-doubt and used this to his advantage. Using her naivety, the man spun a tale that both her friends, Zenji and Yuki were using her in their sick and twisted games. With this, she joined his family, using their resources against the 'fiends' that ultimately led to her own fall.
