We meet Watari Suzumei a few months after his graduation seemingly lacking any mentioned purpose outside of a self-justified sense of justice and a loosely referenced bloody past. Watari could be considered an 'established' character within the Bleach Sakura setting as he doesn't show much development in the couple of threads he is in internally but the external actions he performs grow more and more grandiose as his threads progress. To be fair this is a detriment of me starting him as an unseated Shinigami that wasn't in the academy to begin with but seemed to fit his noble heritage.

An examination in time - we are introduced to the mind of the Suzumei Head. A man who believes that every action is decided by the strength of your justification to do it. Watari muses in this thread that his purpose is to slay monsters and that is how he sees the world. Soul Society is plagued by monsters and needs to be purged and had Kisho given him the reason, Watari would've killed him on the spot. The thread is short, but the impact and drive Watari has implanted in Kisho is a showing of his ability to externally force results.

For Science shows a more accurate portrayal of Watari outside of the Soul Society. In this thread Watari is contemplating why he does it all, because this thread is chronologically after examination in time this is a more three dimension view of Watari. Within the Soul Society he believes in his own justice to get him through the day and to train people when he needs to - on Earth when he's arranging the expansion of the Suzumei Family he's shown as being unsure if it's even worth it. Watari steels himself in this thread to head towards what he believes needs to be done, a plan that manifests in our third thread.

Noble Meet Up - in this thread the weird slips and thoughts of Watari all culminate together and make sense. He's been planning an intricate web of events and gathering intel so that he can bring back the great noble families and purge the corruption that rots them to the core.

Watari's goals are simple:
Establish the four (five) great noble houses. Grow strong enough to control the Gotei 6. Purge the corruption of the Soul Society.

I was really weighing up making this request as all the threads are pretty loose on Watari's own personal character development but it is a Shikai and I sort of need it to help culminate the third thread so here we goooooo

Zanpakuto Ability Request
Inner Spirit:
Bezaliel is a tall skeletal being with two horns protruding from either side of it's skull. It wears a dark red robe which masks most of the pale flesh that loosely hangs from it's body. Gold chains loosely bind clothing into a semblance of a form. The Zanpakuto Spirit speaks in a shrill rasping voice and prefers when manifested to appear behind it's master never being directly in line of sight - always at the corners of Watari's vision.

Sealed Zanpakuto: The guard of Watari’s sealed Zankaputo is circular wood with a carved smokey tendril which frames it, this leads to a plain black grip with a pointed metallic pommel. The blade itself is thirty centimetres in width that tapers at the end in a point. At the base of the blade above the guard a hole through the middle of the blade.

Release Command: "Pluck Their Eyes Out"
Released Zanpakuto: When released Bezaliel's blade corkscrews upwards as the smokey wood that forms the guard blends into the metal. Wicks such as the ones seen on candles sporadically protrude about half way up the metal of the blade and flicker to life, slowly burning out creating a thick smoke that pools around Watari.
Release Ability:

When released the blade produces a smoke that forms a dome around Watari for ten meters. Anybody within the dome cannot sense or see anything happening outside of the dome, anybody outside the dome cannot sense or see anything happening inside of the dome as it's like they were never there.

People inside the dome are treated as invisible and undetectable to those outside the dome.

People outside the dome are treated as invisible and undetectable to those inside the dome. With the difference that instead of seeing the world "outside" the dome all they see is smoke and shadow.

The dome can be entered.

The dome's center is Bezaliel.

Summary: Watari is a character with grandiose plans that is going to become even more grander. As he nears Bankai Watari will actually need to tackle his very clear personal demons of putting everything into a box of "justice" cos "monsters are men!!!" and whatever happened in his past that he keeps having flashbacks to because anime tropes. But hey it'll be a wild ride.

His zankaputo is completely useless in close combat/most combat. But that's not the point of it.

Helena moved, dragging Memnoch away out of harm's reach as the fiery beast woman sprung forward at his insistence. That glowing red eye staring pure judgment and malice into his own and then for a moment -

Watari’s hand dropped to his Zanpakuto and his katana snapped into his hand stopping the blade but the force of the blow sent him sliding back a few feet - his back resting against the wall. You know he hadn’t thought about it before but he did find blood lust attractive. Then it clicked, it made sense. Well, it was a twisted sort of sense.

Five years ago.

Suzumei Estate.

“Watari,” his butler shook his shoulders and snapped his fingers. The eldest son of the Suzumei family stood in a blood spattered room in front of the corpse of his mother. His father's pack of cigarettes lay on a table nearby, exactly where he had left them before the beatings began.

Butcher . . . butcher . . .

“Watari” his butler hissed but then the eldest son of the Suzumei moved. Across the room towards the pack of cigarettes he picked one up and popped it into his mouth, mirrored actions that he’d seen time and time again. A small spiritual fire flickering to life at the tip of his finger to ignite the cigarette.

He inhaled.

Watari Suzumei, now Head of the Family looked up.

“Yes?”

Her Zanpakuto still stopped by his own, glinted menacingly beneath him, mere moments had passed and in that time Watari deftly with one hand had popped a lit cigarette into his mouth. Back then, that was when he had first met Bezaliel, back then was when he had first become Head and his plans had sprouted into his mind.

The trading favors with mentors to gain access to books about the history of Soul Society, the going to the human world to secure routes of trade so that he could get particular toxins across the border and the assemblage of the noble families to this estate so he could have them all in one place. This has all been a game to Watari Suzumei.

“But this isn’t a game Watari”

His eyes widened.

His spiritual pressure like many arms began to wrap around Yuki’s limbs and the limbs of the nearby party goers, an asphyxiating pressure with the desire to give you all you wanted and then remove it just because it could. For fun.

“Bezaliel” Watari Suzumei, Butcher of the Suzumei Family snarled.

Hands began to cloud the surface of the Zanpakuto reaching and grasping towards the surface of the cold steel eager to break from the surface and take from Yuki everything she held dear. The pale thin fingers rubbing against the surface, so close to breaking free, so close to taking her pretty little throat and snapping it.

“Pluck their eyes out”
