Overarching History:
Manami was born in a small fishermen settlement on the eastern japanese coast. She had been an ordenary child, born to unremarkable parents. At the tender age of twelve she had lost her parents to the sea, which caused her to grow up quickly as the duty of taking care of, and providing for her younger siblings fell on her shoulders.

Manami died of old age, one cold december night at the age of 95. She had been surrounded by family and friends.

As a plus, by sheer dumb luck, Manami ended up in the 7th district of the eastern Rukongai. She worked at a tea house owned by a kind older couple. There she encountered a shinigami, whose name she sadly didn't remember, who recommended her to apply to the Shin'ō Academy.

Upon completing the entrance exam, Manami was placed into the average class. After six years, she had finally graduated and is now hoping to be admitted into the 6th division.
