Overarching History
Born to a wealthy Quincy mother and a professional baseball player of a father, Kevin had little to worry about in the way of money or opportunity growing up. Always popular and capable at school and on his little league teams, his friends, teachers, and teammates had little to complain about.
After breezing through a year at college and entering into the MLB draft, Kevin found himself drifting around the minor leagues, making the occasional call-up to the main roster as a relief pitcher or emergency closer. These stays were usually brief until his final season, when Kevin found himself finally landing that coveted starting pitcher spot. He was finally able to actually bat, and was enjoying his newfound popularity as one of the league’s rising stars.
This all came crashing to the ground in a spring training game the next year. There was no reason for him to risk himself like that for a game that meant nothing, but Kevin was never the kind of guy to play it safe. After a few weeks consulting with team doctors and looking into alternative options, the promising pitcher was forced to hang up his mitt.
The sadness hit him like a sack of potatoes and drove Kevin deep into what would have become a death spiral of drinking, pills, and degeneration. Fearing for her son, his mother called upon her long-disused Quincy contacts to fix her son’s arm. They did, but at a price. He couldn’t well return to the public eye after receiving their restorative gifts, but he could take his place among his people.
Eager to get back to some kind of competition, Kevin jumped on the opportunity, quickly developing an affinity for a peculiar form of “archery” focused in his modified pitcher’s glove. Five years after his training began, you better believe Kevin is ready to play ball again, and Hollows best watch out for his fastball.
Reishi Cross: Kevin’s Cross is embedded in the back of his pitcher’s glove.
Reishi Weapon: Kevin has a cannon for an arm, quite literally. Instead of summoning a traditional bow, he is able to hurl his attacks is if they were pitches.
