Technique Compendium
This thread is here to collect both all of the techniques revealed on the site from player creation and house the manifold potential mechanics a technique can employ. This is the most livingest document on the site. This will change. Mechanics on techniques will alter as balance takes shape and a log will be kept of such changes. The most active document is found here under the technique effects and technique library but the techniques here will be considered the source of truth.

Technique Effects
Below is the list of the potential technique effects generated thus far. They are by no means all of the ones that may come as new ideas are presented but serve as a reference to inspire the ideas as you seek to come up with your own techniques. The scale of these effects varies by the rank of the technique, and many of them have outlines for lesser, standard and superior techniques.
Attack with x stat and y skill
Defend with x stat and y skill
Reduce an incoming attack x steps, for y turns
Restore x wound levels over y turns
Have an extra wound level (ie 2 menial instead of one)
Fight past serious wound
AoE Attack
Modify a specific kind of check x tiers
Reduce the effectiveness of x check against you
Reduce the effectiveness of someone's x check
Create a minion at -x(#/%) your reiatsu and at y skill tier
Inflict x wounds over y turns
Gain an extra(specific?) action with x drawback
Ignore x type of technique
Reduce Wound
Allow someone else to use x skill in their check

Universal Techniques
The following techniques are universal and available to all characters:
Desperate Effort - Special - 5 Stamina - None - Usable once per turn either during the action or defensive response, provides +1 to the outcome of a single check.
Wide Impact - Special - 1 Stamina - Offensive - Usable on an attack action, make it target as many opponents you wish, although at -1 to the resultant damage.
