Name: Arata Sasaki
Age: 26
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140
Hair Color and Style: Brown; Short and neat with bangs
Clothing and Accessories: Arata wears brown framed glasses. He commonly wears dress shirts, slacks, and dress shoes regardless of whether or not he is currently working at the library.
Generalized Appearance: Toned, a bit taller than average, and lanky. These are his body's defining features. Arata is a fair skinned, dark eyed, Japanese man with glasses and his face still maintains a boyish roundness even as he approaches his thirties. Arata takes great pride in how he looks with regards to neatness and hygiene. His short brown hair is neatly combed, and he always wears pressed dress clothes regardless of setting accompanied by his signature blue gloves.
Spiritual Pressure Analysis: His reiatsu trails off of his body calmly in white wisps. When he exerts his spiritual power, these wisps of light flow more rapidly and occasionally harmlessly arc onto the environment around him, giving a tingling sensation to those nearby. When he exerts the full force of his spiritual power, a white aura rapidly billows off of his body and those around him who are significantly weaker may experience a sense of numbness. His reiatsu crackles and smells faintly of ozone.
Overall Personality: Once aloof and distant as a child, Arata has become a lot more sociable as an adult. He is friendly to anyone he meets and not hesitant to introduce himself to others. However, his introversion still shines through. He is socially hesitant in crowded settings and is entirely comfortable with long lulls in conversation if he feels he has nothing to say, which is common when speaking with people that may not share his intellectual predilections. Literature and philosophy are his favorite conversation topics and he can get very excitable talking about them. He loves gaining knowledge and loves sharing his knowledge with others but he knows not everyone feels the same. However, when around his family he socially reverts to his childhood.
Additionally, Arata is very conflict avoidant. This works to his favor to a degree as he looks for compromise when possible and avoids offending others or reckless self endangerment. However, he also avoids situations and people that make him uncomfortable including situations where he does not believe he will succeed. He can fluster easily, particularly if he causes unintended offense which can leave him babbling verbosely.
Arata is very squeamish. He cannot bear the sight of blood, wounds, or viscera and feels uncomfortable around meat. He is deeply concerned about getting sick and wears disposable gloves and keeps areas around him as neat and disinfected as he can. He also avoids eating food that he hasn't prepared. Most unusually, he does not like using reishi as it is the dead matter of spiritual beings.

Overarching History
Arata was born to a Quincy family of doctors in Tokyo, Japan and grew up with his older brother. Starting his training from a young age, his natural talent was belied by his squeamishness and pacifism that stifled his growth as a hunter of hollows. Arata lived in the shadow of his brother under the stern tutelage of his parents, isolated from his peers by a reality he couldn't share.
Arata's main diversions from his childhood dissatisfaction were his academic disciplines and his fiancée. Introduced to him at a very young age, they managed to grow a true bond as a result of shared temperaments. Upon reaching adulthood, his parents reluctantly allowed him to not only postpone his marriage but pursue a non-medicinal focus in a school miles away under the circumstances that he'd marry when he finished his education.
Over the course of his education, Arata indulged in the freedom's that came with no longer living with his parents and really came out of his shell. Choices such as veganism and compulsory glove wearing that his parents simply didn't allow him to indulge in were now available to him. Additionally, he was no longer bound to his family's Quincy traditions. Over an extended period of education past what his parents had intended, Arata slowly but surely cut off contact with his family. When he eventually moved back to Tokyo after finishing school, he relocated to the town of Karakura in the western region of the prefecture as a librarian.

Reishi Cross: A silver quincy pentacle hangs off of his wrist by a thin silver chain.
Reishi Weapon: This bow is an unstable mass of crackling white energy. Arcs of reishi harmlessly flow from it to the environment around it. The arrows of this bow share the same characteristic.

Quirks:
- Prefers to wear blue disposable gloves and is hesitant to touch anything without them. He is prone to fidgeting with the cuff off the gloves, often tearing them and compelling himself to replace them.
- He is a vegan and abstains from the use of the byproducts of living creatures within reason. This is not based upon any sense of empathy or moral principle, but merely based on his own preference. In his case, this includes reishi.
- He finds the use of reishi nauseating and prolonged usage can make him physically sick.
