Fifth Seat Shinigami of the Third Division
I D E N T I F I C A T I O N
Name: Yuudai Oshiro
Apparent Age: 22

Hair Color and Style: Shoulder length red hair. Often tied into a ponytail, but wears it down while relaxing
Clothing and Accessories: Yuudai is most commonly found wearing the Shinigami standard Shihakusho. When training he removes the top layer to allow for greater ease of movement as he finds it slows him down too much.
Generalized Appearance: Physical Description: Standing at 197 centimetres, Yuudai, is quite a tall individual. His height is extenuated by his thin athletic build, this leads to him towering over almost everyone nearby. His athletic and toned build and constant training keeps his weight in check at around 75kg. Yuudai has dark red hair, pulled back into a pony tail that extends down to the top of his shoulders. A few strands of hair fall forward down to his eyebrows, as they are too short to be caught in the ponytail. However when he is relaxing or socialising with his friends he often leaves his hair down. Yuudai’s eyes are amber in colour. They are speckled with a slightly darker red. They reflect the light easily giving them a slight shine.
Voice: Yuudai is well spoken and has a very clear British accent. The tone of his voice is fairly constant. During combat his voice steadily increases in pitch as he gets more excited.
Spiritual Pressure Analysis: Yuudai’s reiatsu is a light pink and usually swirls closely around him, wrapping around his body like a blanket. However when he gets excited, such as when fighting, the reiatsu becomes unravelled and begins to flail around like a pink flame emanating from him. It has the sweet scent of thyme.
Overall Personality: Yuudai is friendly to everyone that he meets, however is also very competitive and will challenge those he sees as being worthy opponents to anything from a sparring match to a game of rock, paper, scissors. He will hunt and kill any Hollow he deems to be a martial challenge and will leave the weaker Hollow alone as he doesn't see them as a worth his time or effort. Yuudai has also developed an obsession with cheesecake and can often be found relaxing in the shade with a slice or five.
During combat his friendly demeanor gradually disappears and is overshadowed by his violent, more bloodthirsty side. He will often avoid killing blows as to extend the fight and increase his opponents pain and suffering. This side of his personality can take some time to revert back to normal after the fight, often lashing out at those around him until the bloodlust dies away.

Overarching History
Yuudai was born to a Shinigami and a pure soul in the slums of the Rukongai in 1965. He spent most of his early years being bullied by the other children because of his height. By his mid teens the young man had had enough of the bullies and lashed out. It was after beating the bullies into submission that Yuudai realised that violence could solve many if not all problems. From that point forward the man resorted to some sort of violence whenever he came across a problem.
In his mid twenties, a rookie shinigami came into one of Yuudai’s favourite bars and began to make demands of the patrons to get him drinks and food, saying he deserved it as he was a shinigami. This angered Yuudai and he challenged the shinigami to a fight. The duel didn’t last long as the shinigami had no real combat experience and even though he was slightly more powerful than Yuudai, his inexperience proved to be a fatal flaw. Yuudai managed to beat the shinigami into the ground before returning to the bar. Several hours later a man came to speak with Yuudai about his strength and how he was not as strong as he could be. With a bit of training and refinement Yuudai could become a mighty fighter. The man ‘suggested’ he joined his clan with the potential to be put through the Shinigami Academy if he proved worthy. A challenge if Yuudai had ever heard it, and He took up the man’s offer. Beginning his new training as the newest member of the Hatayama Clan and eventually the Academy.
Yuudai’s first few years at the academy were turbulent. He was constantly picking fights with the other students sometimes to test his skill, and sometimes as a response to something others said or did. He showed great aptitude in hand to hand combat as well as moderate skill in kido, but he showed only mediocre skill in wielding his Zanpakuto, preferring his fists instead. Even though he showed some skill in Kido as a whole, he was only interested in those that boosted his own abilities. In his last few years at the academy Yuudai had managed to make some friends and they had volunteered to be sparing partners. With an nigh unlimited vent for his frustrations, he stopped picking fights with other students and managed to come out of the academy relatively unscathed.
Immediately after leaving the academy Yuudai joined the Sixth Division as a recruit. He had hoped that he could serve the Seireitei and the greater good by hunting down traitors and general threats to the Soul Society. In his first year as a recruit he was given special training to help gain and grow the skills that he would need while out in the field, as well as going out on basic patrols. After his year as a recruit he was promoted to Unseated Officer however his duties were largely unchanged, basic patrolling and sparring with the odd recruit every so often.
Yuudai was eventually assigned to arrest and occasionally execute rogues and threats to the Seireitei, as well as sparring with recruits as well as other officers. Partly as training and partly as a competition to see who was his peer in strength. This lasted until he was moved to the Third Division when Zenji Hatayama, Yuudai’s adopted cousin, requested he was moved to serve under him.

Yōgan no Ken
Inner Spirit: Yōgan takes the form of a man in his late thirties, he has dark skin and long black hair that reaches halfway down his back. He wears a lime green top and trousers with a long juniper coloured sleeveless jacket and an olive green length of fabric tied around the whole ensemble at the waist. The man always wears a smile whenever Yuudai addresses him, and often would only respond to him by increasing or decreasing the size of the smile. This originally enraged the shinigami as he found these responses profoundly unhelpful. Yōgan was often sat meditating or staring into the night sky when Yuudai first arrived to talk to him.
He enjoys peace and quiet and would do almost anything to protect that, even if it means disturbing it himself. The man likes to go on walks around the inner world as the two talk and use the scenery in any verbal answers he does give. Yōgan often ‘joins’ Yuudai’s conversation with others by laughing or chuckling. He finds distracting Yuudai quite pleasurable and usually chooses the most inopportune moments to do so.
Inner World: Yuudai’s inner world is a large traditional japanese styled wooden temple building roughly 30 metres square base and rising 50 metres into the air sat in the middle of a large meadow and surrounded on all sides by a forest. The sky is a bright blue with only a few clouds slowly drifting across it, periodically blocking the sun fer a few seconds before moving on.
The temple building itself is made of fairly plain wood, all of the external decoration is several vines and plants that have grown up part of the walls in a somewhat aesthetically pleasing pattern. The entrance has a small set of shelves underneath a sign reading ‘No Shoes’. On the inside of the building the walls are made of a dark pink wood and covered floor to ceiling with shelves, all of which are fully loaded with books of various sizes and colours.
The meadow itself has a small stream meandering through the centre of it. On either side of which a few bunches of camellia flowers dot the length of the bubbling water. Two paths lead from the entrance of the temple. One turns to the right and leads to a wooden bench sat in the shade of a large chestnut tree, the other path leads straight away from the building and across the greenery, over a small wooden bridge that crosses the stream and leads off into the tree line. The rest of the land is covered in a variety of green flowers, but most prominent amongst the bunch are the chrysanthemums. Large patches of which grew around the entrance to the temple building.
The forest that surrounds this heavenly area sprawls out as far as the eye can see in all directions. The trees themselves are cherry blossom trees that are always in bloom, this means that the petals form the flowers are always floating around in the air and constantly falling on the floor, however there always seems to be the same amount of petals on the ground regardless of how much time passes.
Sealed Zanpakuto: Like most Shinigami Yuudai’s sealed weapon takes the form of a standard katana that he keeps tied to the left side of his uniform. The hilt is a plain green wooden grip, Yuudai has embroidered it with a fuschia ribbon in a diamond pattern. The sheath is of a plain wood but is decorated with a rouge spiral pattern weaving its way down the length. The blade itself seems to be of steel and is relatively plain apart from a green stripe running from hilt to tip down the centre of both sides of the blade.
Release Command: Nanomashin no musuko

In the interest of getting you writing as you messaged me here is some quick feedback:
So everything looks good to go:
- When it comes to Kido Spells you tend to be best with one or, if super gifted, maybe two types then worst at the others. So although he's basic at Hado he may still be capable of beginner level Bakudō and/or Kaido. Having specialised in one like you have is the way to go.
- Shikai looks cool - Just remember you won't have it until you make your First Release request, then mechanics can be looked at during that time. So this isn't an approval for that.
- Background note - As an adopted member of the Hatayama clan he can use the name if he wants, just as a reminder as it's been since this was written.
